Account and Data Deletion
Effective August 6, 2026
This page explains how to delete a KAizen Chess Lab account and associated personal data.
Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate. Before requesting deletion, cancel any active subscription through the platform where you purchased it. Deleting a KAizen account does not itself guarantee that Stripe, Apple, Google Play, or another billing provider will stop renewal.
How to request deletion
Sign in, open Profile & Account, choose Start account deletion, verify your identity again, type DELETE, acknowledge the separate subscription obligation, and submit the permanent deletion. Sign-in is disabled immediately. The server waits for in-flight analysis to stop, removes queued analysis work, retries failed deletion stages, performs the final data purge, and then removes the Firebase Authentication identity.
If you cannot sign in or the in-app process reports a problem, email support@kaizenchesslab.com from the address associated with your account. Use the subject Account and data deletion request. If you cannot access that email address, explain the issue so we can provide another proportionate verification method.
Identity verification
We verify that the requester controls the account before deletion. We may ask you to sign in again, confirm an email, or provide limited information matching the account. Do not send a password, authentication token, or full payment-card number.
Deletion scope
After verification, we will delete or de-identify account-linked data that is not subject to lawful retention. Depending on the data associated with the account, this includes:
- Firebase Authentication identity and profile information;
- connected chess usernames, submitted games, analyses, coach outputs, in-game assignments, progress, trainer records, and account-linked preferences;
- account-linked Cloud Storage files and local product data where technically controlled by KAizen;
- account-linked analytics or warehouse records through deletion or de-identification where reasonably identifiable and not lawfully retained; and
- account attributes held by service providers where deletion or de-identification is available and appropriate.
Information that may be retained
We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, security, chargeback response, dispute resolution, legal claims, or legal hold. Backup copies may remain temporarily until they are overwritten or expire under the backup cycle. Retained data will remain restricted to the applicable purpose.
Timing and confirmation
In-app deletion normally completes within about two hours after the required safety window for in-flight processing. We aim to complete every verified deletion request within 30 days. Complex requests, legal obligations, purchase-provider dependencies, or identity-verification problems may require additional time. If so, we will provide a status update and follow applicable legal deadlines. We will confirm when the request is complete or explain any limited information retained and why.
What deletion does not do
- It does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
- It does not reverse or refund a completed charge.
- It does not remove records another platform independently controls, such as a Chess.com, Lichess, Apple, Google, Stripe, or financial-institution account.
